Clinical Research Services (CRS) is PAREXEL’s core business accounting for approximately 75% of PAREXEL’s global revenues. Business Operations is vital to ensure the continued success of CRS incorporating Proposals & Contracts, Investigator Contracts, Process & Training and Technical Support.

Recently the project management group has been restructured with the aim of increasing the customer focus of Project Managers as well as further empowering team members. Today Project Managers are closer to their customers than ever before and are able to stay one step ahead of their deliverables through more effective resource allocations tools and processes.

The European Project Management team continues to grow at a rapid rate, internationally and across all aspects of the business. PAREXEL recognise that the quality of their project management capability is core to the continued growth and success of their business and are therefore seeing to hire two experienced Project Directors, one for their UK operation and one for their German business.



Primary Duties:

Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Project Director will line manage a team of Project Managers providing strategic oversight to client projects whilst also ensuring that the development needs of Project Managers are met. It is therefore essential that candidates bring excellent communication skills coupled with a motivational and inspiring style.

In a role that combines operational and account responsibility you will be heavily involved in strategic negotiations with clients in order to implement master service agreements and out of scope requirements. Therefore, the role requires individuals with strong commercial and financial skills.

As the customer base has grown in line with PAREXEL’s geographic reach and global resources, so the customer strategy has become increasingly account based. The Project Director will have a vital role to play in the enhancement of such partnerships as the industry moves towards a functional outsourcing model.

The ideal candidate will already have worked for a CRO in a project management or clinical operations capacity and have led dedicated teams of experienced clinical research professionals. They will be passionate about customer delivery and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They will be driven by mentoring and coaching others as well as working closely with clients to positively impact their drug development needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead large and complex national or global programs managing a group of PMs and Snr PMs.
  •  Actively participate in proposal development teams for global and domestic programs, should give input on the specific indication, lead the development of the operational plan using knowledge and experience to develop innovative plans and program architecture.
  •  Approve proposal on behalf of Project Management Group and lead the bid defense to ensuring the award of the project
  •  Provide mentorship for Associate PMs, PMs and Snr PMs
  •  Represent Project Management at marketing/new business meetings
